Assets and custody

For people with Work tickets or Manage assets: the inventory, who has what, loaners, audits, fees and parts.

The inventory

Tickets > Assets lists every device at your sites with its tag, serial, model, place and holder. Add one by hand or import a CSV (map each column, preview, then import). An asset's page shows its details, its timeline (every custody change is kept) and its tickets.

Custody

Check Out to a person or student; Check In to a Location or a container (a cart or a box), whose contents follow it when it moves; Transfer to another site. Check In / Out takes a scanner: Batch (many devices to one holder or place) or Paired (scan a person, then their device).

Loaners

Lend from a pool with a due date; the person who lent it is told when it is due back. Returning it puts it back in its pool.

Audits

An audit counts the devices expected at a site. Scan in each Location: each device is Verified, Misplaced (Move Here puts it right) or still Pending; at Close, the rest are Not Found.

Fees and insurance

Add Fee on an asset or a ticket. A student or person enrolled on this school year's insurance policy has the fee taken from their remaining coverage first. people with Manage assets record payments as they come in (Strata never takes money) and waive fees. Print a notice or a statement from the fees list.

Parts

When parts are on, Add Part on a ticket draws from the site's stock and adds the part's cost to the ticket. A site falling below its minimum can run a Low Stock rule.
