Strata Pass
Detentions
Detentions keeps the school's detentions and prints the passes students carry. It needs Manage detentions or Pass site administration (which includes it), for one school or the whole district. Someone with only that permission opens Pass straight on Detentions.
Recording a detention
Click New Detention, pick the student by name or number, and enter the incident date, the start date, the days assigned, the reason and the school's own lines (such as 5th Block and 6th Block). Days Left fills in with the days assigned; change it for a detention that is already part-way through (4 assigned, 2 left). Start Date is the first day the detention is on the roll: the next school day, unless you change it (pick today if the student serves this afternoon). The school's lines appear once they are set up in Site settings (below). Save and Add Another keeps the dialog open with the same dates, days and reason for the next student. Each detention you save that starts today or earlier is checked in the list, ready to print.
The roll
Active is today's roll: every active detention, on one page, with a column for today. A detention that starts on a later day is listed with Starts and its day, with no marks and no checkbox, and is not counted (its own page still has Print Pass); it joins the roll on its start date, so detentions entered before or after the roll never hold it up. Mark each student Served, No Show or Absent (absent from school that day); click the marked one again to clear it, or check several students and mark them all at once from the bar above the table. The count beside the search shows how many are marked; Submit Roll saves the day once every student has a mark, and you can change marks and submit again until the day ends. Marks are saved as you click them and everyone taking the roll at the school sees the same marks; marks not submitted by the end of the day are dropped. A no-show adds the school's no-show days (one, unless the school changed it). When the last day is served the detention is completed on that date; it stays on the roll until the end of the day. A day nobody submits records nothing, the same as Absent. A student with two detentions serves one a day, the older one first: the later one is listed under it as Held, with no marks and no checkbox, and takes over the day after the older one is completed. A held detention has not started, so its Edit Detention has no dates; change Days Assigned or Days Left, or cancel it, if something needs fixing. To record a day that was missed, add it under Dates Served or No Show Dates in Edit Detention.
Printing passes
Check the detentions to print and click Print Passes. The passes open as a PDF, three to a page with a gap between them for cutting. Each shows the student, the incident date, the start date, the days assigned, the dates served, the days left, the no-show dates, the school's lines, the reason and the school's note. Print again after the roll to give students an updated pass.
The list
Detentions shows Active, Completed or All, with search by name, number or reason, and sorts by student, incident date or days left. Export CSV downloads what the list shows, in the same columns as the old spreadsheet. To change an active detention, click the pencil at the end of its row: Edit Detention opens with the incident date, start date, days assigned, days left, the dates served, the no-show dates, the school's lines and the reason. Pick a day under Dates Served or No Show Dates to add it, or click the x on a date to take it off; Days Left follows unless you typed it; Save keeps the changes. Cancel Detention in the same dialog takes one entered by mistake off the list. Completed and cancelled detentions are final; a student who owes more gets a new detention. The student's name opens the detention's own page with every day recorded.
The school's detention pass
Someone with Pass site administration sets the pass in Manage > Site settings > Detention Pass: its title (for example Lunch Detention Pass), the note printed at the bottom (where and when to report), up to four lines of the school's own, and the days a no-show adds. A Text line is typed; a Staff line picks a person from the staff.
